So...if you look at the dates of my previous entries...and you can do even rudimentary math...it's an easy leap to the conclusion that I am definitely not "one" with the blogging concept.
I have good intentions. I sometimes even have some pretty interesting thoughts. I guess what I don't have is the right motivation in the right time and at the right place.
I was thinking about all this yesterday as I was waiting in line at Cob's Bread.
There was a lady at the counter ahead of me. The clerk asked if she could help her. The lady studied all the goodies in the glass showcase.
Pointing at the cranberry custard danish (because the sign on the tray said that's what they were), she asked the clerk, "Are these cranberry custard danish?"
The clerk replied, "Yes they are."
The woman then said, "Ah..but what kind of danish?"
The clerk responded, "Um...cranberry custard."
The woman studied them for another 30 seconds and then said, "I see. But what kind are they?"
I listened to this exchange and wondered why it is that there is never an amigo standing next to you when things like this happen? You know...the things that make you wonder "WTF?"...or "seriously?"...or "unbelievable!" A like-minded buddy that you can exchange glances with and know that they are thinking the same thing you are.
And then it hit me! My blog! That is what I need a blog for! Not to visit every day....filling page after page with the ho-hum hum-drum activites of my life. No! My blog should be used to record the moments when I see something...or think something...or imagine something...and don't have an amigo on hand to share with!
My blog will be for those moments, insights, questions that you simply have to share!
No more trying to remember everything I do every day! No more trying to recreate the Diary of Anne Frank! No more pithy (and/or really boring) entries about kith and kin!
I am excited now!
Perhaps I've finally cracked the proverbial blog nut!
