A New Year!

So I popped in here because I noticed the blog bookmark icon on my desktop and remembered I had a blog in the first place. Pretty sad when you don't keep your blog updated mostly because you forgot you had one.

Obviously, a fair amount of time has passed by since the last time I visited here. Needless to say, that missing time was filled with trial, tribulations, and activities...some quite memorable, some extremely forgetable. None of them worth trying to recount at this time (or at least not right now).

Today is Westen's first birthday. Seems weird to think that one year ago today, we were celebrating the birth of of our first grandson (and the fact that we finally got to be home after a 12-hour, overnight hospital vigil).

So Westen blows out the flame on one birthday cake candle and I get ready to blow out the flame on 57 birthday candles (well...in a few days that is). If I let myself think too much about it, the ratio of 1:57 can be pretty depressing....and scary!
